This assembly includes the heat sink, the two metal plates that sandwich the motherboard, the support bracket, and two support bracket screws. The heat sink is attached to the thinner shield plate. The support bracket and screws clamp the thicker support plate through the motherboard and onto the heat sink. Removing the motherboard or replacing the heat sink will separate the original thermal paste. Be sure to apply a new layer of thermal paste during reassembly.
